Chronic Ruptured Silicone Gel Breast Implant

This picture shows chronic ruptured silicone gel breast implant, yellow-tinged with protein increase as well as thickened scar tissue with calcified granulomascalcified breast implant seen on the lower capsule specimen.  The white chalky appearance is calcified mastitis with leakage silicone over 15 to 20 years into the capsule leading to the thickened chalk-like calcification.
